Steven Rempell, Founder and CEO
Mr. Rempell brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience and proven insight and innovation to his role as CEO of Express Mobile. For the past 20 years, Steve has focused on leading software and mobile device innovation. Prior to Express mobile, Steve was founder and CEO of Beyond Words - an early leader in graphical word processors (IBM DisplayWrite, Canon Expression, Lotus Ami Pro). Prior to that Steve was founder and CEO of MicroPro Japan, which became the 2rd largest Micro computer Software Company in Japan and the developer of the first Japanese/English graphical word processor. During his career, Steve also held prominent roles in other Fortune 500 companies, such as manager of marketing operations, IBM Asia-Pacific, and, before that, he was co-inventor of Houston Automated Spooling Program (HASP) at IBM. Steve holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics from Cornell University.
McKinley Hackett, Vice President of Sales
Mr. Hackett is a seasoned sales leader with more than 20 years experience driving revenue, building partnerships, and leading teams within Internet, software, and mobile device services organizations. McKinley's executive sales and management positions include stints with SavaJe Technologies, Axis Communications, Xerox Corporation, Computer Associates, and Procter & Gamble.
Ken Brown, Vice President of Product Development
Mr. Brown has 30 years of experience in software engineering primarily in the commercial sector for product development of software or combined software/hardware systems, including word processing and desktop publishing software, device drivers for peripherals such as printers, scanners and digital cameras, and process management software for large scale photo development equipment. Prior to Express Mobile, Ken held the position of senior vice president at Fuji Film Software where he founded Fuji Film's R&D Division in Silicon Valley, CA. In addition to Fuji Film, Ken was engineering manager for Canon Information Systems, senior developer at Beyond Words, and senior developer of IBM DisplayWrite and Canon Expression.
Stephen Hytha, Senior Controller
Stephen Hytha is an experienced financial & operations manager with twenty year record of success in managing profitable companies in the cable television, telecommunications and retail banking industries. Prior to joining Express Mobile in August 2009 he served as Financial Operations Manager at HAL-TEC Corporation, a turnkey provider of digital mapping, design engineering, network services, installation/repair & construction services for the CATV / Telecommunications industry where he managed financial planning, large bids, pricing and profitability cost control. Previously based in Tokyo, Japan, Steve served as strategic investment and operational manager for investments in several industries at Tomen Corporation, one of Japan's largest general trading companies. During his four years in Japan at Tomen he coordinated the worldwide M&A Team in multiple investments in Asia, the US and Europe and managed the company's investment in a U.S. based venture capital fund. Steve started his career in commercial banking as a manager at First Florida Bank. Mr. Hytha holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Management from Tulane University.
Steve Marra, Vice President, New Media Business Development
Mr. Marra is a veteran Internet Marketing executive with more than 25 years experience providing marketing and Internet marketing expertise to software start ups to established corporate companies. Steve lived in Europe for several years providing marketing focused on increasing revenue and building partnerships. Steve's executive senior marketing and management positions include, Informix, Pyramid Technology, Network General, DataTools and LiquidPrice.com
John Rizzo, Senior Advisor
Mr. Rizzo is an adept executive who gets the job done by using cutting edge business, strategic, and technical skills. His experience is drawn from various executive leadership positions including vice president of technology strategy at Aplix Corporation where he works closely with firms such as DoCoMo, IBM, Sun, Motorola, Nokia and others to build industry support for next generation mobile data technologies. Prior to his work at Aplix, John held the position of chief architect at Vodafone Germany. During his career, John has also held senior technology positions at both Verizon and AirTouch.
